As a key member of the Virtual Care Operations Team, the Device Coordinator supports the delivery of virtual health care to patients via innovative technologies, such as the Medly Application (App). The Medly App helps heart failure patients take control of their health by providing self-care guidance and access to their care team remotely. Such technologies are an essential component of the patient’s healthcare journey, supporting patient empowerment and self-management through access to their information. This is a demonstration of UHN’s purpose, values and principles in action on how the needs of the patient come first.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and manages database for the purpose of tracking and reporting.
  • Ships all inventory and ensures that appropriate equipment is recycled
  • Responsible for device purchasing, inventory, and management of equipment and software required
  • Maintains and tracks inventory of all equipment, devices and costs
  • Monitors and ensures that all program data elements are inputted onto spreadsheets or sharepoint site in a timely manner.
  • Performs analysis, interpretation and reporting of information to support program and management decision-making, including: monthly reporting of indicators and completing ad hoc/program requests and/or special projects assigned.
  • Maintains clear, accurate and up-to-date documentation of all processes (e.g., data reconciliations, etc.).
  • May provide or assist with diagnosing or assisting with end user support where incidents are logged for Virtual Care team to troubleshoot
  • May assist in training on devices or other day-to-day technology needs of the users at UHN
  • Identifies new opportunities and provides recommendations on technology enhancements to improve the user experience
  • Supports responses and triaging of issues when required which come through the Virtual Care service desk and responds to technical issues that come through a technical assistance help line and is available to answer calls within regular office hours.

Qualifications:

  • At a minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare or Information Management or recognized equivalent required
  • At minimum, 1-2 years of practical or related experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
