Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Business Systems and with a dotted reporting relationship with the Director of Operations, the Distribution Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of data to distributors, and monitoring and reporting on the final mile delivery of products in the network. The Distribution Specialist is the key data and systems expert connecting Delivery Ink, clients, and independent distributors.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Develop and execute plans to improve and optimize distribution and logistics processes
  • Work on projects to support Logistics process improvement – working cross-functionally with other departments as necessary
  • Ensure distributors following standard operating procedures in the field
  • Coordinate and confirm the resolution of customer complaints
  • Analyze and interpret internal and external data and identify improvement opportunities/corrective action
  • Support Logistics and Business Services on delivery status by preparing, generating KPI’s and monitoring delivery activities
  • Collect and disseminate key business metrics (daily, weekly, and monthly reports)
  • Use routing software (GIS), business intelligence programs, as well as spreadsheets, to collect data and generate ad-hoc Logistics reports as required
  • Communicate with clients and delivery vendors on daily and weekly activities, requirements, and results
  • Database management; comparison analysis
  • Backup reporting and customer development support for the logistics team
  • There will be instances where a field visit is required to better understand the operation, or to solve a very specific problem

Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma or degree or equivalent is preferred
  • 2 years of experience in related field or similar work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office environment (requires advanced proficiency in Excel)
  • Experience with routing software/GIS is a definite asset
  • Customer service focus, attention to detail, well organized
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, computer, and people management skills
  • Newspaper/flyer distribution experience is also an asset
  • Requires car, license and car insurance

Additional Information

This is a remote position.

Limited travel required: There may be times that the Specialist needs to visit particular areas or warehouses to better understand delivery operations (all reasonable driving and travel expenses are reimbursed)

Salary Range – $55,000 – $65,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
