Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of road construction, specifically paving work
• Ability to drive/ operate complex machinery
• Self-motivated, strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
• Ability to job plan and put activities into action
• Knowledge of paving equipment and the paving process
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
• All other duties as required

Qualifications

• Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.
• High school graduate or G.E.D preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the road construction industry
• Set up the paver machine with automatics to control the thickness and width of the asphalt
• Preform daily inspections of equipment and any minor maintenance required
• Work closely with Paving Machine Operator to control paving machine speed
• Observe distribution of material over road surface to ensure uniform distribution
• Assist crew members in any other duties as required
• Ability to work alone and perform decision making tasks when needed
• Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Must comply with Drug, Alcohol, and Fitness testing requirements.
• Availability to work both out-of-town and remote locations.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
