Job Summary
The Peter B. Gustavson School of Business Bachelor of Commerce Program has an international focus and a mandatory co-op component. The School is strongly aligned around our three areas of specialization (International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Service Management, and Sustainability).
There are approximately 1,000+ students in five cohort groups annually. The student base is made up of local, national and international students. These diverse groups require trans-cultural awareness and knowledge, and very different professional development strategies and various resources for these students in the final year of their undergraduate degree. The Experiential Learning Officer (ELO) is a key resource within the BCom program to identify and build these professional skill development activities for undergraduate students.
Under the general direction of and reporting to the Experiential Learning Manager, the ELO is involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of the COM 405 Career Prep Across Borders course, that involves both face-to-face and e-platform delivery. The ELO is responsible for student coaching, individual student course planning, and industry specific advising. This includes developing and organizing course specific events, including a mandatory, annual conference-style event for all students that involves external stakeholders.
The incumbent will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate communicating with students on international co-ops and exchanges.
