What responsibilities will you have in this role?
- Supports the program coordinator in ensuring that suitable and adequate field opportunities are available with external organizations for students in the S135 program.
- Manages the on-going relationships with external field placement providers and undertakes any activities which promote and enrich such relationships.
- Responds promptly to any issues which may arise related to field placement and ensures their resolution and/or reporting as required to the program coordinator, relevant faculty and to the Chair.
- Identifies potential field placements and refers potential placements to the Chair for establishment of appropriate affiliation agreements.
- Maintains an up-to-date database with all placement agency information within the ORBIS or other field education management systems as well as on a back-up database stored locally in Excel.
- Collaborates on the revision of Student, Agency, and Faculty handbooks on an annual basis.
- Works with alumni services and through social networking to create and maintain an alumni database.
- Other duties as required.
What qualifications do you need for this role?
- Two year Office Administration Health Sciences diploma, certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Minimum three (3) years’ related experience and demonstrated understanding of relevant Office Administration Health Science agencies or organizations available in the community for potential student placements.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant agencies/organizations available in the community for potential student placements.
- Goal setting and achievement oriented, with skills in retention/stewardship and relationship building.
- Positive, energetic and professional with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative and able to work well on a team.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including database management and competency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated judgment and sensitivity to issues related to privacy and confidentiality.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
