About the Role:
This is an individual contributor role that requires a hands-on finance professional to assist with all aspects of the revenue cycle from recording hours worked to collecting cash from the customer. The candidate will get exposure to job costing, time entry, billing, material & subcontractor invoicing, and cash application.
As a Finance Co-op Student at Graham, you will:
- Support Transaction Processing lead in managing deliverables and requirements related to the following areas: job costing, time entry, billing, 3rd party invoice processing and cash application.
- Depending on the size and the complexity of the project, may be responsible for all aspects of the transactions processing or just a portion of it.
- Understand the contractual differences and the process flow specific to each project.
- Complete necessary activities/steps to ensure timely processing of the timesheets in accordance with contract and internal requirements.
- Complete necessary activities/steps to ensure timely and accurate billings in both Company and client’s systems (in accordance with contract and internal requirements).
- Complete necessary activities/steps to ensure that cash is appropriately applied to ensure accurate analysis of outstanding receivables.
- Ad hoc requests/analysis
- Calgary based but may require travel to remote job site (which entails additional security clearance such as CSTS-09 certification and A&D testing)
Qualifications/Experience:
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Resilient ‘can-do’ approach to work is crucial to be successful in this role.
- Analytical, self-motivated problem solver.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply the knowledge to job at hand.
- Able to organize and prioritize demands, handle complex tasks, set, and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Basic understanding of project job costing, time entry and billing processes is an asset.
- Experience with excel to help analyze large data, complex workbooks, and ability to decipher trends.
