Job description: A local boutique law firm, located in the Heart of Downtown Vancouver, is currently seeking a Finance Manager for their fantastic firm! As their Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the achieving and managing the firm’s revenue and expense goals. You will demonstrate strategic vision, alongside managing matrix corporate relationships and accounts from a financial perspective. The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance professional, with the ability to improve processes, solve problems and deliver to deadlines. The incumbent will also have had experience working in a law firm, as well, be a qualified accountant with a CPA and their CGA designation.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage firm’s daily finance operations which includes: bank reconciliations, full-cycle billing, accounts receivable and payable, trust accounting, payroll, benefits and taxes
• Prepare routine financial reports for Partners and tracking key performance metrics
• Prepare budgets and forecasting data
• Assist external accountants with preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns
• Monitor employee performance and quarterly bonus system
• Research and provide excellent recommendations on accounting, compliance issues as well any general efficiency improvements that are needed

Education and Qualifications

• Certified Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Certified General Accountant (CGA)
• 5+ years of Law Firm Accounting Experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PC Law and Quickbooks
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
• Flexible and pragmatic with a focus on solving problems and delivering solutions.
