Reporting to Manager, Audit & Assurance, the Financial Analyst is mainly responsible for conducting financial analysis of agencies that contract with MCFD. The Financial Analyst must possess a strong attention to detail with an emphasis on number precision to ensure financial analysis is accurate and represents the agencies’ performance & use of the Ministry’s funding in a fair and factual manner

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Completion of a Professional Accounting Designation e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA; OR CPA Canada Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF), OR a bachelor’s degree in a recognized financial management or accounting program (e.g. Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics).
- Minimum 3 year of experience in conducting detailed financial statement analyses.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting financial risk assessments involving multiple risk factors.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in developing financial reports, report writing and analyzing financial data for trends and recommending actions.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
- Minimum3 years’ experience in conducted complex financial analysis
- Experience working with publicly-funded service providers such as adoption agencies and delegated aboriginal agencies.
