This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the IM/IT HIS Business Operations Leader, the HIS Forms Coordinator (FC) provides application expertise and acts as the primary contact point for the intake of provincial health record forms. The FC ensures that existing NS Health form process standards are consistently applied and maintained across the province.
Specific responsibilities include:
- • Coordination of the receipt of all incoming forms on the SharePoint site, follow up to phone calls and emails related to revisions and deletions
- Reviewing forms for accuracy and consistency of application to ensure all mandatory information sections are completed
- Education of Clinical users on new form development and education affecting various zones/sites across the province
- Updating SharePoint site to ensure requestor receives update of form status electronically
- Responsible to ensure consistency in the application of NS Health form development standards for health record form design
- Updating packet request to assist clinical services in improving timeliness of the availability of clinical documentation forms
Qualifications
- Grade 12 plus graduation from a recognized one year secretarial or office administration course
- Minimum of 2 years previous related experience in an administrative/healthcare setting required
- Medical terminology course an asset
- Experience working with system applications (SharePoint, Internet/Intranet, email) is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access) is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of contacting, including peers, senior management, frontline staff, vendors and end users
- High level of organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Public speaking ability considered a strong asset
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests at once
- Ability to provide education to users on the use and function of forms submitted via SharePoint
- Excellent problem solving skills, particularly with technical issues (troubleshooting, developing solutions)
- Ability to maintain a high level confidentiality is required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
Long Assignment Full-time Position; 70 Hours Bi-weekly

Salary Information
HIS Forms Coordinator (Clerk E)
$21.7301 – $24.3127 hourly
