JOB SUMMARY

The NEW Courtyard by Marriott Burlington is currently looking for Part-time Bistro Associates. The newest hotel to the Burlington/Oakville region features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq. ft of flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant/Lounge/Patio.

Responsibilities

• Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests’ expectations.
• Complete restaurant opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools.
• Cleaning all equipment areas, locking equipment doors, etc.
• Prepare food, coffee and other beverages.
• Work in all F&B areas, including busing, cleaning and resetting tables.
• Follow all policies, procedures and rules as stated in the Hotel emergency procedures.
• Deal with guest requests in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner.
• Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Hotel policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

• Prior experience with Starbucks, Micros, banquets, catering and hotel is strongly preferred.
• Smart Serve certified required.
• Food Handler certification preferred.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
• General knowledge of food and food preparation techniques.
• Able to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to understand both oral and written English.
• Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
