Job description: Our client is a well-established transportation company offering a wide range of services including supply chain management, transportation, and warehousing across Canada.
They are currently looking for a Logistics Coordinator for their team in Richmond, BC. This is an in-office role and requires a strong leader with exemplary organization and planning abilities and high customer service standards. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, documenting, and organizing shipments via road and air.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of three to ten years of logistics or related experience and has the ability to work independently. Strong presentation skills, both in writing and in person, are required. Experience in warehousing would be an asset but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the transportation team to achieve set Key Performance Indicators.
- Manage Local truck dispatching.
- Manage Driver records.
- Manage Vehicle Maintenance
- Create shipping orders and manage all documents to accompany shipment during transit.
- Ability to organize and manage shipments via road and air.
- High degree of organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Familiar with BC roads.
- Preparation, adherence, and maintenance of client Standard Operating Procedures.
- Shipment confirmations to ensure all deliveries take place within the transit requirements.
- Support flexible work coverage.
- Ensure data integrity & data quality in the Transportation Management System.
- Highly Skilled with transportation software.
- Able to set up or improve shipping processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in supply chain management, freight forwarding, and logistics or transportation is an asset. Diploma is mandatory.
- Working experience in a Supply Chain or Transportation company. Understanding of warehouse and custom brokerage ideal.
- 2 – 3 years experience in transportation with a focus on road transportation.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley dispatching experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Product Offering (principally Excel and Access).
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid Interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
- Team-oriented, committed, driven, assertive, and self-directed.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work successfully under pressure and within given deadlines / excellent time management skills.
