Job description: Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with our retail client in their search for a General Manager for their fabric store. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong leadership skills and a retail background. Compensation & Hours:

• The expected salary will be $50,000/yr.
• This is a full-time, permanent position
• Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday

Position Summary:

• Managing staff payroll, performance reviews, onboarding, and termination as required
• Conflict-management, both internal and external
• Managing the daily store operations including staff, customer requests, inventory, restocking, and purchasing
• Providing exceptional customer service and a welcoming environment for all customers
• Promoting positive staff relations to ensure a well-functioning team and fulfilling work environment
• Reporting on inventory, purchasing reports, and cash reports
• Merchandising and ensuring a clean, pleasant shopping experience for customers while understanding what is seasonally appropriate and
• Keeping clear records for inventory, staff, and other miscellaneous paperwork

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of management or leadership experience
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media platforms
• Ability to effectively time-manage
• Creative problem solving skills and ability to adapt
