Who We Are…
Parkland communities are managed by Shannex, a family-owned company with Maritime roots and more than three decades of being a trusted provider of services and supports to seniors across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Shannex opened Parkland on the Glen in Mississauga in 2015, followed by Parkland on Eglinton West in 2020. Today, Parkland continues to grow and will open its newest lifestyle residence in Ajax in Fall 2022, with a future community planned for Ancaster in 2024.

Who You Are …
As the successful candidate you are a motivated leader with extensive experience in senior living, accommodations and/or the hospitality industry. You have staked a solid reputation as an expert in your field whose name is synonymous with excellence. Your professional experience is well balanced with business acumen, people development, facility management and lifestyle brand awareness. Experience with a high-end property opening is essential. You ideally have an Undergraduate Degree in Business, Hospitality or Hotel Management. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about service, has strong results orientation, expertise in the execution of service delivery, effective problem resolution and strong decision-making capabilities who believes in the power of team.
What you will do…
Reporting to the Regional Director, Operations – Ontario, the General Manager manages the operations of the residence and leads an expert cross-functional team in the delivery of exceptional service, resident living and outstanding facility standards. You are responsible for developing and managing employees as well as managing the financial performance of the campus. As the General Manager, you will inspire the team to deliver exceptional service and ensure the implementation and continuation of our organizational values while delivering superior operational results. As we near opening, you will work closely with the sales and marketing team to achieve sales and marketing objectives as well as to assess and evaluate prospective resident’s needs and services.

- Selecting and leading a dynamic team toward the organizational, facility and departmental goals and priorities
- Fostering the development of a quality culture that shapes the values, beliefs, and actions of all employees through the application of a continuous quality improvement philosophy
- Collaborating with the Regional Director in offering recommendations on how to maximize resident satisfaction, streamline processes, seek new revenue opportunities and other opportunities of value
- Managing available resources (human, financial and physical) to promote optimal resident and employee satisfaction
- Promoting and marketing of the campus and its services within the community and surrounding area
- Maintaining a strong relationship with care planning, community-based service providers, contractors and suppliers
- Monitoring of facility occupancy and adjustment of marketing strategy and activities to achieve occupancy goals
- Networking and maintaining contact information for community groups and associations to increase community awareness and visibility of the facility
