Job Description

Established in 1989, West Coast Home & Truss LTD is among the most reputable and distinguished manufacturers of engineered trusses in the Lower Mainland. We are the proud members of the Western Wood Truss Association of BC and Association of Professional Engineers and Geo-scientists of BC.
West Coast Home & Truss LTD has an opening for the General Manager in its production facility to provide leadership and direction to the Production teams and organization. This role will work collaboratively within all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement and achieve financially successful performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of Canada’s most advanced Engineered Truss manufacturing facilities.
Positions: General Manager: Production
Salary: $ 55.00
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Co-ordinate the work of divisions and departments and oversee day-to-day operations
· Develop, implement, manage and communicate plans to establish internal manufacturing within quality, production, and financial objectives
· Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives.
· Communicate strategy and results to the unit’s employees
· Develop, implement, and manage departmental standard work.
· Analyze and report department performance on production volume, cost, and quality.
· Schedule and manage the team; set goals, monitor key performance, middle managers and other executive staff, develop and document training plans to ensure employees are trained and in compliance with all procedures; coach and counsel to improve results, conduct ongoing performance.
· Report (written and/or oral) to the Managers about the status of high priority jobs running in Production.
· Direct and drive the utilization of problem solving methods for related plant and customer issues.
· Direct department process improvements and corrective actions.
· Provide key input into the development of the department strategic business plan and support business plan goals.
· Develop/maintain solid customer relationships/open communication while working with teams/groups to resolve issues and develop continual improvements.
· Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
Employment Requirements:
· Any university degree or college diploma is an asset.
· Several years of experience as a general manager in a production is required.
