Position Overview

We’re looking for a thinker and maker – someone resourceful, personable and passionate foodie who can create the Fresh’s experience authentically. Reporting to the Regional Director, the General Manager will take charge of the overall restaurant operations for their location. The General Manager will work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Front of House Manager to ensure the front of house and back of house operations are aligned with company policies and procedures. It is expected that this individual knows as much about the menu and kitchen operations as they do about guest services and bar programs. The General Manager must place passion and pride behind the food and drink menu while inspiring thousands of guests each week, and ensuring the team brings it to life in the restaurant. The General Manager is vital in optimizing company profit by creating the best possible guest experience, while inspiring and maintaining high team morale. The General Manager is responsible for team building and management, from coaching for growth and success, to staff development with their ultimate goal of creating future managers. The ideal manager would be a resourceful, process-oriented problem solver, who can communicate clearly while working in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Able to work at least 5 shifts per week and be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Restaurant manager for at least 3+ years at a restaurant brand or group with 5 or more locations with single store sales above $5mil USD
  • Clear knowledge of inventory tracking, health and safety processes and working with P&L statements
  • Experience coaching, leading and directing a large team to ensure high morale and quality service
  • Regularly required to stand and walk for majority of the day and to lift no more than 25 pounds unassisted

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Owns business planning for the restaurant, key financials and KPI’s, as well as maintaining and growing sales and profitability; regularly conducts P&L reviews to analyze financial metrics.
  • Participates in the full cycle hiring and promotion process for FOH staff and management
  • Monitors and ensures product and service consistency within the restaurant
  • Trains and coaches staff and managers on operations, process and best practices on a daily basis
  • Smoothly implements new policies, procedures and systems for their location
  • Works closely with the other managers to optimize process and people operations
  • Meets labour costs objectives when creating and publishing weekly schedules
  • Holds staff and managers accountable to all procedures and standards set out by company including health and safety standards
  • Maintains accurate inventory and employee data in various software
  • Acts as a role model for employees by upholding all standards, policies and operating systems
  • Educates and articulates product knowledge and ingredient benefits clearly to coworkers and guests
  • Drives sales and local restaurant marketing initiatives to build business
  • Builds robust and accurate schedules that support the needs of the business
  • Attends manager meetings and is prepared to participate by actively listening and working towards harmonious restaurant workflow
  • Follows up on all guest complaints and escalations regarding allergies, food quality, etc.
  • Achieves operations within budget and sets and reviews budgets with Senior Management
