Job title: Guidance Counselor for National Support Service SARCA for the Anglophone Adult General Education Network

Job description: The Centre de services scolaire des Mille-Iles is looking for a guidance counselor for the SARCA national support service for the Anglophone Adult General Education network for a specific 3-year project.

Most of the work will be done through telecommuting, so the person in this position can be located anywhere in the province of Quebec.

More specifically, reception, referral, counselling, and support services (SARCA) offer assistance during undertakings associated with an academic, career or personal educational path. They are offered by school services centres (SSC), English school boards (SB) and special-status school boards (SSSB).

As part of this mandate, the guidance counselor will be responsible for:

· Collaborating with dozens of guidance counselors across the province.

· Facilitating networking and sharing best practices among educational organisations.

· Providing training needed by the network.

· Collecting tools, materials, and practices from the network and its partners.

· Contributing to the production and distribution of the SARCA newsletter.

· Ensuring the follow-up and dissemination of research results that foster best practices.

· Participating in the update and operation of the SARCA section on the Carrefour FGA-FP website.

· Collaborating in the preparation and facilitating of SARCA meetings.

Qualifications

· Member of the Professional Order of Guidance Counsellors of Quebec.

· Bilingualism in both oral and written communication (job is 90% in English).

· Excellent facilitation and leadership skills.
