Job description: The Nursing Resource Team (NRT) and Clinical Resource Team (CRT) operate within the Quality & Performance (Q&P) Portfolio, under the strategic leadership of the Director of Clinical Resource. Clinical Managers provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the team and supporting staff. Clinical Education and Development Clinicians support the educational and developmental needs of the team. The NRT and CRT are staffing teams that play a vital role in the provision of staffing services across patient care programs at Hamilton Health Sciences. It is comprised of full-time and part-time staff whose shifts are assigned to various clinical areas to meet appropriate staffing requirements. Resource team staff will respond to needs based on patient acuity, replacement for sick time, vacation, and known vacancies. Staff within the NRT and CRT are aligned to a cluster or multiple clusters to support staffing needs throughout all HHS sites and alternate health facilities.
1. Personal Support Worker or Healthcare Aide Certificate or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses at McMaster University or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses in the McMaster-Mohawk-Conestoga collaborative nursing program
2. Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required
3. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills
4. Demonstrated initiative and judgement appropriate for the position
5. Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions
6. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
7. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
8. Ability to lift using appropriate lifting techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics
