Hanna has an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Aide to join their Acute Care nursing team! As a Health Care Aide, you will be an important member of a multidisciplinary health care team, demonstrating genuine interest and respect for the clients. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate excellent communication and observational skills, report changes in client care needs and condition to the Charge Nurse. As an HCA and member of our nursing care team, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct patient centered care. The town of Hanna is located in east central Alberta, located about 130 miles northeast of Calgary and is a bustling little town with a healthy economy in ranching, farming, oilfield, mining and power generation. Hanna boasts a full range of cultural and recreational activities and facilities including an Arena for hockey and curling, Ball Diamonds, Swimming Pool and Slides, Fitness Centre, Golf Course, Soccer Fields and many parks and green space. Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job that involve periods of physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting weights up to 25 kg. Completion of HCA course. Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Acute Care experience (within the last three years). Ability to communicate effectively with a geriatric population.
