Job description: General summary
The Health and Safety Advisor acts as an expert in the management of workers compensation files.
Key Responsibilities
Performs workers’ compensation case management;
Produce requests for medical expertise and various requests to the
CNESST;
Participate in accident investigations;
Communicate to managers the relevant information related to the management of employees light duties;
Ensure the smooth running of files at the various levels of dispute;
Prepare cost sharing requests to be submitted to the CNESST;
Produce data and reports related to their field of expertise;
Monitor the financial progress of files on a monthly basis and make strategic decisions to control costs;
Support colleagues in the area of prevention of incidents;
Tend to various health and safety committee tasks;
Carry out all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications – External
Job requirements and key competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources or equivalent;
Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims management;
Bilingualism (oral and written) required;
Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations;
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to priorize;
Good analytical and problem solving skills;
Requirements
