About the Opportunity
The Health Services Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, Collaborative Practice Model for patient care.
This role requires a high degree of decision making, change management, team building and collaboration skills. Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department.
Working in a co-leadership model, the Health Services Manager is also responsible for working with physician co-leads of the areas required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management/patient flow in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum. Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviors.
This position requires a high degree of initiative and change leadership ability. The ability to travel freely in the zone is required.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Discipline
- Masters in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration is preferred
- Must be registered with the professional college of relevant health discipline
- Minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience is required
- Minimum of five years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment
- CHE certification is an asset
- Previous leadership/management experience an asset
- Demonstrates analytical, independent and creative decision making
- Demonstrates high degrees of self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
- Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded health care system, nationally and internationally
- Demonstrates the leadership capabilities that encompass the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
