Hastings Entertainment Inc. operates Hastings Racecourse, a landmark thoroughbred racetrack located in Vancouver, BC. • Hastings Racecourse features live thoroughbred racing, simulcast of national and international horseracing, a wide array of food and beverage options, and a newly opened gaming floor featuring 600 slot machines, Furlongs Eatery, and the Dark Horse Lounge – a full service restaurant with big screen TVs and live entertainment.

• Casino

• Sunday- Thursday – 9:00am-2:00am
• Friday-Saturday- 9:00am-4:00am
• Racing

• Monday- Sunday- 9:00am-until the last live simulcast race

Hastings Racecourse is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Bartender to join our F&B department. This is a seasonal part-time position; successful applicants must be available to work on live race days (Friday through Sunday) and all holidays.

Under the general supervision of F&B Management, this position is primarily responsible for ensuring quality preparation and service of beverages to guests and servers. Other duties include, but are not limited to: internal ordering of bar supplies and liquor, use of P.O.S system (handling of cash and credit), restocking, cleaning, and organization of work equipment and area, provide ongoing practice of Serving It Right, maintain positive and professional interaction with guests and co-workers, and other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
• Serving It Right certification
• Must be willing to undergo a criminal record and credit check by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch
• Minimum 2 years bartending experience in high volume environment
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling an asset
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good organizational skills
• Must be a team player who works well with others
