Crown Career Pathways
Crown Career Pathways is an Indigenous internship program that has been developed in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, which calls for increased employment opportunities for Indigenous peoples.
The program has been developed by Crown Investments Corporation and Saskatchewan’s Crown Corporations to provide a mechanism to bridge Indigenous graduates from eligible post-secondary institutes into permanent employment opportunities with the Crown sector, provincial government or the private sector in Saskatchewan.
Self-declared Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit & Métis graduates, within two years following graduation, are eligible for the program. The interns are required to have graduated from a post-secondary institute in Saskatchewan as recognized by the Government of Saskatchewan. The successful candidates will be hired for a one-year term at an annual salary of $50,000.00 with 15 vacation days and 10 sick days.
The Opportunity – Project Coordinator

This role within SaskTel’s Project Management Office in Regina, SK supports a team of project management professionals who manage large scale high risk/high impact corporate projects.
The Project Coordinator is accountable for providing project controls and support functions on corporate projects including project meeting coordination, project schedule maintenance, project document management, project status reporting, budget tracking, contract management and project issue coordination. You will have an opportunity to gain experience in a variety of departments and technologies, spanning our corporate project and program portfolio.
What you will do:
- Accountable for providing project management support and direction for the successful implementation of corporate projects. Assist in setting priorities, actioning or delegating inquires where appropriate, determining and maintaining schedules, and attaining sufficient knowledge of current projects and activities within SaskTel. Provide Project Controls and support on assigned programs and projects.
- Communicate and deal with external partners, customers, employees, and industry counterparts. Review and prioritize incoming requests and correspondence to ensure appropriate action is taken by assuming ownership of the situation or delegating to the appropriate personnel.
- Update, consolidate, and distribute project documentation including schedules, risk registers, issues, status and financial reporting.
- Provide project coordination leadership and direction for the successful implementation of small projects, including but not limited to applying an appropriate level of rigor and discipline, adhering to all project management processes, and providing updates to all relevant stakeholders.
- Works within and cultivates an environment that supports innovation, teamwork and business leadership. Provide support and direction by creating a positive work environment capable of meeting current and future needs; and ensuring optimal individual and team performance through informal and formal training, mutual problem solving, specific goal setting, feedback and recognition.
- Participate as an active member of the project management team by contributing to the group decision making processes.
- Manage program/project meeting logistics (ie. weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings, steering committee meetings).
- Ensure that the preparation of correspondence, minutes, reports, Board and Executive presentations are done in a confidential, proficient and timely fashion.
- Utilize systems to meet functional requirements for Time Management (ie. daily, weekly, and monthly error reports, performing audits quarterly, timesheets, time reporting); Material Management; and Accounting Management (purchase orders, requisitions, good receipts, budget reports, project order numbers).
- Ensure an objective and confidential approach to the preparation, filing, release or reference of all project information including all personnel and business issues.

- University Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Business/Commerce, Computer Science, Engineering or Arts obtained within the last 2 years.
