Mission
We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Infrastructure group that would apply their knowledge and previous work experience to oversee construction of municipal infrastructure in Central Ontario. This role provides an exciting opportunity in construction management supporting our communities with vital wastewater treatment infrastructure. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail and has excellent communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Site Inspection for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications.
- Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions and use this information to prepare inspection reports.
- Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and identify and monitor deficiencies.
- Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations.
- Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt and liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required.
Profile
- Technical degree or diploma in a related field.
- Five years of related experience in municipal wastewater treatment construction inspection.
- Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle.
