The Corporate Software Asset Management (CSAM) business unit is responsible for the stewardship of software assets across government. This includes administration, management and control of all corporate software assets to ensure fiscal accountability and licence compliance. CSAM undertakes a portfolio approach to software asset management (SAM). All the major components of SAM (procurement, asset tracking, contract management, licence management, vendor management and financial management) are undertaken for the entire lifecycle of the software asset. SAM services are also provided to the broader public sector. Our SAM program includes continuous improvement as we strive to ensure that significant cost savings are realized, business risks associated with the use of software assets are mitigated and enhanced decision support is provided.

The Software Licensing Specialist provides specialised technical and business support to ministry staff and clients regarding software acquisition, product pricing, and system technical configurations and licensing on various operating systems across government.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Computer Science or other University Degree; OR 3 years of software asset management (SAM) related experience; OR related education, training and/or experience.

Experience providing expertise, guidance, and assistance concerning software licensing direction, issues, and implications to IT professionals.

Experience building and maintaining positive client relationships and working partnerships with client teams, vendors and other business units within Government.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite, MS Teams and Skype for Business.

Preference may be given for experience with the following systems: iProcure, iStore, MySC (Service Now), and Remedy.
