• Provides leadership and expert advice to ITS management and staff, college senior management, academic and business unit managers
• Researches, designs, and recommends new security methodologies, policies and practices
• Leads security risk assessments, information security incident investigations and coordinates PCI compliance reviews
• Monitors the college IT security infrastructure
• Designs and coordinates college wide IT security awareness training
• Provides management support to the IT Security section within ITS including budget development, administration and supervision of staff
• Participates on national and provincial working groups for the advancement of cyber security in higher education

Qualifications:

• Three (3) year degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field of study
• Minimum seven (7) years progressive experience in computing and information security within a large corporate/enterprise network
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CCISO (Certified Chief Information Security Officer) designation is preferred
• Experience in business continuity planning, IT auditing, risk management, vendor/contract negotiation, information security, and performance monitoring and management
• Experience with IPD/IPS, IDS; large scale wireless network experience, large scale (> 3000 node) network infrastructure including VoIP
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and collaboration skills
• Team-oriented leader with excellent consultative and diplomacy skills
• Effective ability to adapt and learn quickly, in an ever-changing environment, keeping current with changing legislation, policies, and best practices
