Kinesiologists play a key role in our team environment; primarily they focus on fitness testing and feedback sessions as part of the Client Health Assessments. The Kinesiologist will provide exemplary care and service to our clients in accordance with practice standards. The Kinesiologist will liaise with other clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure safe and effective delivery of our services.
Here’s how
- Perform patients’ fitness assessments using ACSM and CSEP guidelines and in-line with the company’s protocols (VO2 max, FMS, body composition, strength, flexibility, etc.)
- Conduct stress tests including setting up electrodes/wires and blood pressure monitoring
- Provide clients with advice and recommendations according to their health assessments and ongoing care related to their health goals and personalized care plans (including support with exercise program design and healthy lifestyle habits)
- Review of client charts for accuracy and completion ensuring client files are complete for that day’s appointments
- Confer professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
- Compile and prepare reports on patients’ health status and assessment/test results
- Ensure maintenance and availability of equipment as required by norms and regulations
- Respond promptly to emergencies
- Develop and implement individualized training programs for all personal training clients
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
- Current and active member of CSEP and/or ACSM possessing CEP certification
- Current CPR Certificate
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize and make decisions affecting patient care
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, while delivering highest level of patient care
- Experience and interest in preventative health and education with desire for growth
- Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Work well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing time sensitive tasks
- Experience with electronic health charting considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics or Kinesiology or Exercise Science and 2-3 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Master’s degree considered an asset
