Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The incumbent will integrate the staff of the National Reference Center for Parasitology. The ideal candidate is responsible and meticulous and works in the correct manner to avoid cross-contamination of samples. He or she must work independently and keep the confidentiality of patients. He or she has a basic knowledge of Word and Excel.

General Duties

• Reception and numbering of clinical samples received at the NRCP,
• Printing of labels,
• Faxing results reports,
• Preparation of material for the clinical test (racking tips, racking dilution tubes),
• Organizing samples in racks for upcoming test and putting back samples in order when test is completed,
• Helping with archiving of samples.

• High School Diploma,
• Independent and responsible worker,
• Basic knowledge of Word and Excel,
• Bilingualism is an asset,
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and capacity for teamwork,
• English, spoken and written. French, spoken.

Additional information

Status: Part-time
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays to Fridays
Work Site: Research Institute of the MUHC, Glen site
