Acumatica is looking for a Lead Systems Analyst to join our Project Accounting and Construction team in Montreal, Canada. Join us to build the best-in-class business product using Acumatica xRP technology and grow your skills in the highly professional environment!
We are hiring in Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, and we will consider candidates for remote work in Toronto or other areas within Eastern time zone in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Take an active lead on designing and developing the best-in-class ERP software.
Engage proactively, methodically, and creatively with product managers, partners and customers to identify and elaborate business needs, distinguishing them from user requests, prioritize them and select most relevant.
Work closely with software developers, product managers and fellow analysts to understand technical concepts and to be able to translate business needs into technical requirements. Help and guide colleagues on the path of product development.
Evaluate information from multiple sources, analyze, test, prioritize and document functionality when it’s necessary for the design work.
Structure information, write functional design specifications and technical requirements.
Collaborate closely with software developers and QA engineers during programming, debugging and testing of the new or enhanced functionality.
Perform the quality and functional control of the business requirement, product design and final product.
Perform acceptance testing, report bugs and product design decisions.
Troubleshoot customers’ issues and propose solutions. Help to resolve complex cases.
Demonstrate features and enhancements being developed to the technical and less technical audience, manage feedback.
Cooperate with product managers to help elaborate and prioritize the product backlog.
Requirements:
Higher technical education in computer systems, systems and networks; information systems and technologies, system analysis and management, computational mathematics and informatics.
Experience in system analysis, software design and development of functional specifications – for 8+ years.
Candidates should be able to provide a portfolio with examples of past specifications, upon request.
Experience in business software development industry – for 8+ years.
Previous experience working as a Software Developer, Programming Analyst or other coding related work is a strong advantage.
Understanding of software design principles, software engineering processes, software product lifecycle
User empathy, ability to model user behavior and see flaws in the running application.
System thinking and ability to manage complexity at different levels.
Ability to structure large amounts of information, decompose objects and processes, synthesize solutions, do impact analysis of the changes.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Attention to details and analytical mindset.
Ability to make complex decisions with insufficient information.
Strong technical writing and technical communication skills.
Will be a plus:
Business analysis experience for complex business products (similar to ERP) and products with a continuous life cycle and maintenance.
Accounting domain knowledge.
Construction industry experience.
