Job title: Logistics Coordinator
Job description: Responsibilities include:
- Act as initial point of contact for all visitors to the warehouse in a professional and courteous manner ·
- Assisting in scheduled and spot inventory verification counts ·
- Liaison with freight companies for competitive rates and delivery schedules for all shipments ·
- Enter and dispatch all sample orders and communicate tracking and details with requesting party ·
- Assist in generating documents for outbound and inbound shipments, including Bill of Ladings, Packing Slips, Picking Slips, and Pallet Cards.
- Prepare receiving documents for internal use ·
- Collecting and compiling required documents as well as receiving of PO’s ·
- Coordinate with order pickers to distribute and gather picking paperwork ·
- Assist in printing and review of product specs and preparation before production ·
- Provide support to other team members as required ·
- Ensure product has been inspected and released by QA team and for compliance to the order ·
- Calculate and document weight and dimensions for all inbound and outbound shipments ·
- Arrange and trace delivery schedules for the transportation of each shipment ·
- Daily tracking and tracing of inbound materials and outbound orders to ensure delivery appointments are met.
- Inform Sales Coordinator and management about delays or changes in delivery schedules ·
- Ensure purchase orders are fulfilled and shipped ·
- Receive products and materials and ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are entered accurately into the ERP system ·
- Verify all shipments as having been requested by Purchasing or Management ·
- Ensure delivered goods have been inspected, weighed, and match the control samples ·
- Communicate with suppliers regarding receiving discrepancies ·
- Maintain supplier and shipping company databases ·
- Inform Receiving Hands as to the level of inspection by supplier and ensure goods are verified and inspected accordingly ·
- File packing slips with their associated Purchase Orders ·
- Organize and digitize filed packing slips and their matching Purchase Orders ·
- Perform visual check for freight damage prior to signing for receipt of goods, including taking photos and uploading to database ·
- Communicate Manager’s plan of warehouse storage and disbursement of goods throughout the factory and internal departments ·
- Assist Manager in forecasting material requirements by providing data on usage from recent orders and through regular communication with Production team ·
- Providing support to other team members as required ·
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and qualification:
- Minimum 1-year full-time work experience in shipping/receiving
- Working in Production environment in a food manufacturing industry would be an asset
- Diploma in supply chain management / production and inventory management / supply chain & logistics / operations management / or business administration
- Strong math, measuring, English communication, and computer skills including MS Office; ERP systems experience an asset
- Documentation and verification skills (for Bills of Lading, Picking Slips, Packing Slips, comparing to Purchase Order, Receiving Memos)
- Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) required by Supply Chain Manager and QA Manager for documentation and control for shipping and receiving
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- Observant with strong communication and spatial problem-solving skills
- Works safely so as not to compromise safety of self and coworkers
