About the Job

This Logistics Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations within an assigned function, and is mainly responsible for the transportation side of logistics. Responsible for the leadership of direct reports as well as the attainment of daily operational goals within his/her assigned functional area.

Salary: $62,000 -$70,000 annually

Shift hours: Monday to Friday 8-hour afternoon shift, Flexibility with start time between 12:00pm-2:00pm (Some Saturdays required, with incentive pay for 6 days’ working)

Responsibilities

Managing a team of Dispatchers and Drivers etc.

Overseeing the day to day execution of the operations, coaching and issuing discipline to drivers.

Customer service satisfaction and expectation management.

Staffing performance management and development of exempt and non-exempt employees.

Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling.

Health and Safety Management.

State/Local/Federal regulations compliance

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

H.S. diploma/GED required.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.

Two (2) years or more relevant experience in transportation, logistics management required.

One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required. advanced required.

Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations. advanced required.

High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.

Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area.

Off shift support in the event of critical customer network disruption or crisis.

Makes decisions in a timely manner.

Strong oral and written communications skills.

Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
