Job description: We are a busy household of 5 – Mom, Dad, a 14 year old, 4 year old and 19 month old, all girls with exception of Dad. Primarily needing help with respite childcare centered on our 4 year old and 19 month old as well as help with light household chore-type duties. Our 4 year old, is very energetic and needs a playmate. Our youngest, has CHARGE Syndrome, a rare genetic syndrome affecting many aspects of her daily life. We are looking for an energetic, positive, active person to join us and help with day-to-day living and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating activities for kids, in particular our 4 year old, but also our 19 month old as appropriate, such as crafting, painting, playtime/mat-time, reading, taking kids outside, etc.
• Light household help with cleaning, such as vacuuming, emptying and loading the dishwasher, washing dishes, cleaning up kid’s toys.
• Learning to administer G tube feeds using a feeding pump and bag as well as cleaning the pump and bag appropriately.
• Food prep for kids (namely our 4 year old), including meal times as suitable and snacks.

Hours & Rate of Pay:

• Looking for 20 hours per week to start, with a strong possibility of increasing.
• May 15th – August 31st to start with high hope for continuation*.
• $18-$20/hour depending on skills and experience.
• The hours and days per week are somewhat flexible and to be discussed with the successful applicant to see what works best for our family and their own commitments.

Qualities & Skills Required:

• Energetic, self-starter that sees what needs to be done prior to being asked.
• Looking for someone who loves playing with kids, being outdoors and enjoys the imaginary mind of little ones.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccine required*.
• First aid and CPR certification is an asset.
• Education in Therapeutic Recreation, Nursing, Occupation Therapy or Early Childhood Education an asset.
• References are required.
