Overview
Job Description
The Manager Finance, Merchandising Analytics is responsible for analyzing Merchandising strategic imperatives and providing value added analysis with an aim to improve profitability and manage risk of upcoming initiatives.
- Serve as business partner for Merchandising Team on strategic initiatives such as Cost Harmonization
- Provide analysis, guidance, and recommendations for new business activities and impacts
- Coordinate financial analysis for Merchandising function on longer-term initiatives
- Identify challenges and opportunities to improve performance and profitability for Merchandising
- Build financial models to support budgeting and analysis of upcoming / existing initiatives
- Prepare Financial Presentations on a quarterly basis or as required, including recommendations
Lead functional team and drive employee engagement
- Coach, develop and empower members within functional team
- Review employee engagement results and develop overall action plan
- Create opportunities for skill development and career progression to develop talent
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years or more of progressively increasing levels of responsibility within a finance department in a large retail organization
- Undergraduate degree
- CPA Designation preferred
- Previous finance management experience within Retail
- Experience working with Merchandising departments preferred
- Ability to build processes and augment existing Financial reporting systems
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of report writing using Khalix, SAP and Excel
- Ability to create and interpret complex financial modeling
- Effective communication and consensus building skills
- Ability to balance conflicting demands
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- Good working knowledge of SAP and SAPBW
- Comfortable presenting to senior leaders within a large organization
