The Role
Our mission at Cymax Group is to break down all barriers to make multi-channel commerce easy. The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee the internal and external resources for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. In addition, you will be responsible for continuous improvement and ERP implementation in this area.
Who You Are
- Bachelor of Administration, Finance or Accounting
- 2-3 progressive years experience in AP and AR
- Experience leading a team
- Understanding of freight industry, specifically accessorial charges
- Netsuite or other large ERPs
- Expert in Microsoft 365 including excel
- Business process diagraming and process improvements
What You’ll Do
Accountabilities
- Maintain full accountability for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash management functions.
- Oversees and manage the vendors, carrier and customer relationship process on the finance side and act as key lead in cross-functional discussions and initiatives to support vendor, carrier and customer relationship success metrics.
- Oversee the processes around vendor disputes, collection of rebates and other promotions.
- Evaluate risk and ensure that the VP, Finance is made aware of potential valuation issues with respect to collections.
- Oversee the company’s corporate credit card program.
- Oversee, monitor and report key working capital metrics.
- Ensure customer and trade vendor balances/subledgers are appropriately reconciled from an accounting perspective.
- Support ad-hoc reconciliation procedures and documentation of workflows as required.
People & Technology
- Build and develop a best-in-class financial operations team that is engaged, accurate and efficient.
- Ensure efficient and cost effective use of offshore and outsource resources.
- Mentor team members including regular performance reviews and ongoing feedback.
- Train staff and supervisors in areas of core responsibility including assignment and review of routine work and projects and providing input on professional development requirements for team members.
- Continually analyze and evaluate processes to optimize the processing of P2P and order to cash transactions.
- Perform root cause analysis, and routinely review processes for improvement recommendations and coordinate with key IT development and business partner teams to enact and effect change in process.
- Act as lead finance authorizer with respect to data integrations, account mappings and ERP setups that impact AR, AP and cash accounts.
- Implement strategic process improvements to reduce rejected bills, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency in the vendor billing level and thus improve vendor relationship metrics.
- Implement process improvements to reduce and streamline partner revenue invoicing issues and thus improve customer relationship metrics.
Controls and Regulatory Compliance:
- Thoroughly understand transactions and processes within areas of core responsibility and ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts in areas of direct responsibility are reconciled and fully supported for each month end.
- Take a lead role in managing requests and fieldwork deliverables for annual audit and tax reporting process.
- Support the process of establishing and maintaining internal controls surrounding finance operations.
- Develop and coordinate the documentation of business processes and accounting policies.

Compensation
We are committed to transparency in our hiring process. The Salary Range for this role is between $80,000 and $100,000 depending on experience, skills, training and organizational needs. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. This compensation range reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or above the midpoint of the range for their role.
