The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Marketing Intern, Part-Time, who will be based in Burnaby, B.C. This will be a term position – approximately 4 months to start.
Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and monitoring the company’s social media strategy to increase brand awareness and improve marketing efforts. This position works closely with others in Marketing, as well as the team lead.
In this role you’ll:
Plan, map, and schedule content that contributes to a steady stream of new content for external audiences
Assist in the creation and execution of timely, “on brand voice & tone” messaging and communications for the department social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Contribute and implement our social media strategy including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant platforms
Monitors/report on social media KPIs and social media campaigns that support company strategies
Propose new ideas that contribute to social media objectives and provide input into content creation
Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing
Assist in the creation of digital content that is both interesting and relevant for our audience, and satisfies key departmental and organizational objectives
Research strategic opportunities
Here’s what you bring:
Have recently completed or are currently completing a degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
A passion and desire to learn and be receptive to feedback
An understanding of content strategies, tools, channels, and trends
A self-starter who brings comprehensive ideas to the table
Excellent communication and writing skills for social are required for success in this position, with a strong sense of judgment and discretion
The successful candidate will be highly organized, have a strong ability to multi‐task, be agile to changing social media landscape, possess a creative problem-solving mindset, and troubleshoot
Eager to share new marketing trends and technology
Familiarity with Hootsuite an asset
MS Office applications
Completion of social media certification and/or content strategy certification from HubSpot, Hootsuite, Sprout Social an asset
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Spark, or Adobe Suite an asset
