Job description: Your Opportunity:

The Psychiatric Adult Service is a sub-acute service, providing time limited, goal directed therapy to patients suffering with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders.

Description:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:

Social Workers: Completion of bachelor degree in Social Work and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW). Psychologists: Completion of bachelor degree in Psychology and active or eligible registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited nursing or psychiatric nursing education program and active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Additional Required Qualifications:

Note: if registered with ACSW require authorization to provide restricted activities. Minimum of 2 years working in a therapy position within Adult Addiction and Mental Health. Demonstrated understanding of all Addiction and Mental Health programs within the Calgary Zone. Demonstrated proficiency with individual, and group therapy. Demonstrated ability to manage a case list and work within tight timeframes. Demonstrated ability to work on a team. Proficiency with both CBT, and DBT, therapy modalities. Demonstrated time management abilities. Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred 3-5 years working in a therapy position within Adult Addiction and Mental Health.
