Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:

Equivalent education and experience is defined as: Bachelor degree in Social Work with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy with experience in mental health assessment and intervention. Bachelor of Science in Nursing with experience in mental health assessment and intervention. Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Minimum of three (3) years within the last five (5) years providing mental health support, including conducting intakes and screenings for new or returning clients seeking services. Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Skype for Business. Experience providing support to clients regarding both addiction and mental health concerns. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing support to clients through a telephony platform. Experience working on a virtual and/or geographically dispersed team. Experience providing crisis intervention. Comprehensive knowledge of addiction and mental health services in northern Alberta.
