Job description: Your Opportunity:

Reporting to and working under the supervision of the Care Manager, the Intake Addiction and Mental Health Therapist works interdependently with a team of mental health professionals. The Intake Therapist is the first point of contact for the Children, Youth and Families Addiction and Mental Health Program, with the majority of the work being conducted over the telephone. Having the primary responsibility for Intake & Urgent referrals, the incumbent requires extensive addiction and mental health knowledge and skills to screen and triage all requests for service and information. Role also includes working with community partners to provide education & support to enhance client care utilizing a family centered care framework. High expectations exist regarding accessibility, effectiveness & appropriateness of response & decision making. Screening & triage decisions are based on clinical findings gathered from individuals & referring or collateral sources. This position will be working out of the Nexus Business Park site. This position will be working primarily 4 days/week 7.75 hours shifts with an opportunity to work up to full time hours, as needed.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology with considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. 3-5 years of direct clinical experience with the focus on children, youth and their families. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Advanced levels of knowledge and skill in the assessment and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders is required. Current BCLS-HCP certification required. Provisional status with current registration with CAP will be considered. Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training Excellent interpersonal skills, computer proficiencies, and well developed written and verbal skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care experience is preferred.
