Lethbridge Child, Youth and Family Addiction and Mental Health is looking to recruit a full time permanent mental health therapist. The incumbent will carry a differentiated caseload and will support children, youth and families in our community in a therapeutic capacity that includes initial screening and assessment, treatment planning and intervention, and case management for children (0-11), youth (11-18) and families looking to access addiction and mental health services. Services may include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psycho-educational groups as well as prevention and health promotion work. Evening and weekend work will be required. The Mental Health Therapist performs other related duties as directed by the Child, Youth and Family Addiction and Mental Health Service Manager or his/her designate. Authorization for restricted psycho-social intervention and registration with applicable college is required.Please be advised that this unit/program/office is participating in the initial pilot of the Trial of Modified Posting Provisions. Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of child development and family systems. A minimum of Two years mental health experience (5 years preferred) in a community setting with Children, Youth and Families. Preferred Qualifications:
