Addiction and Mental Health Services in Bonnyville, St. Paul, and Cold Lake has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic individual to work as a casual Mental Health Therapist. The position is geared towards an individual who can provide relief as a mental health therapist in one of the three named communities. If you are passionate about providing excellent addiction & mental health treatment services to children and adults, then this is the ideal career opportunity for you. As a Mental Health Therapist (generalist), you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment approaches to children and adults experiencing mental health issues. Working both independently and as a team, you will provide evidence informed and best practice in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment. This position is also responsible for providing telephone intake services and hospital consultations to physicians for mental health and addictions clients presenting in crisis. Bachelor’s degree in social work, registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse will be considered. The “Lakeland” area is known for its abundance of outdoor activities and recreation. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse will be considered. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in rural communities. Experience in screening and crisis intervention.
