Job description: JOB PURPOSE

Cares collaboratively for patients under the direction of a registered nurse or duly qualified medical practitioner for custodial, convalescent, sub-acutely ill and chronically ill patients; assists registered nurses in the care of acutely ill patients, rendering the services for which he or she has been trained and within the LPN scope of practice.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborates and delivers holistic care to individuals or groups of patients and their families, working to the full extent of the LPN scope of practice. Acts with dignity and respect for all patients, adhering to the values and philosophy of the Horizon Health Network and ANBLPN.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of the Licensed Practical Nurse Program from an approved school and currently registered in the Province of New Brunswick or eligible for such registration.
  • Obtains unit specific skills as required in the established time frames.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record

  • Patient Safety is a critical aspect of quality healthcare. Successful candidates must be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively, and responding to adverse events.
  • Attend work on a regular basis.
  • Willing to accept change and demonstrate the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Work in other patient care areas as requested by nursing supervisor/manager.
