Job Description & Qualifications
Job Summary
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for mid- to large-sized projects. Provide mentoring to junior team members.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging, and support for systems software/hardware, including implementation support for multiple infrastructure platforms.
- Tunes platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved. Performs root cause analyses for service interruption recoveries. Creates preventative measures.
- Identifies and tests processes for automation. Performs configuration prior to the quality assurance process. Conducts quality assurance reviews to ensure standards and best practices are followed.
- Develops expert knowledge of industry best practices and uses that knowledge to provide technical support to project team members.
- Provides 24/7 on-call support for assigned systems, including investigating and troubleshooting problems.
- Interacts with requestors and architects to define system requirements. Translates the requirements into technical specifications. Interchangeably works with technical business-oriented teams.

- Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
- Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
- May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees’ professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details
- 5-8 years of experience as a Senior/Lead Engineer in a distributed enterprise production environment supporting M365 products (Formerly Office 365).
- Management of IDM utilizing Microsoft Identity Manager to support all aspects of user creation, termination, LOA, etc. with HRIS such as PeopleSoft or Workday.
- Strong Active Directory support experience in a multi-domain environment including MFA (azure), Azure AD (AAD), user groups and permissions, and certificate management (PKI).
- Advanced PowerShell scripting experience including creating scripts to automate regularly executed tasks and reporting of data.
- Experience with creating groups to delegate user permissions and access for Role Base Account Controls (RBAC).
- DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP Address) management experience utilizing third-party tools.
- Broad knowledge of SQL databases and applied permissions.
- Experience creating and supporting Azure AD Single Sign On (SSO) SAML authentication requests.
- Working knowledge of Flow and Power Automate to create web applications and automated approval processes.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow for change and incident management including support requests
- Experience with engineering and implementing high availability applications within the infrastructure on a wide variety of computing platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills (Tier/Level 3 Support).
- Ability to participate in 24×7 on-call support rotation.
