4:15 am – 2:45 pm Monday – Thursday

The Opportunity

Job Description

• Maintain and operate packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Complete documentation required in an accurate and timely manner ensuring Good Documentation Practices are followed
• Correctly identify and handle packaging materials, liquid, cream, soft-gel / hard-shell capsule or tablet bulks for orders
• Disassemble, clean, and re-assemble packaging equipment
• Report any deviations found with respect to instructions, process, or materials used
• Help troubleshoot any packaging problems encountered and issue a work order for maintenance as necessary
• Assist with quality and safety investigations
• Able to work and grow in a Lean Manufacturing environment
• Assist with the inspecting of equipment and work area for cleanliness, safety, and proper set up prior to the packaging operation
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized fashion
• Perform regular quality in-process checks as specified in packaging documentation
• Assist in the training of new line operators
• Analyze paperwork prior to handing in for Lead Hand review
• Assist with validation studies conducted on the line
• Interact with peers, Lead Hands, and personnel from other areas
• Work with Inventory Management and Productivity programs
• Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Technical:

• Previous production, GMP and Safety experience an asset
• Strong mathematical and mechanical skills
• Previous experience with operation and setup of packaging equipment an asset
• Ability to troubleshoot and use hand tools

• Must be able to work independently within timelines and deadlines
• Must have the ability to work in and create a team atmosphere
• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize concurrent tasks

• Ability to perform all job duties including standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, squatting, kneeling, the ability to lift up to 25kg occasionally, pushing and or pulling large tanks, and willing to work in a humidity-controlled environment around constantly running machinery
• Proactively safety conscious
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
