Part-Time Professors, Justice Stream Programs
POSITION SUMMARY
A leader in polytechnic education, Humber invites talented, committed individuals interested in teaching on a part-time basis to take the first step in joining our dynamic faculty team starting as early as September 2021.
We are accepting applications for part-time professors to teach in our justice focused programs including the Bachelor of Social Science – Criminal Justice, Community and Justice Services Diploma, and the Police Foundations Diploma. Applicants will also be considered for the Justice Studies Degree program which is offered in partnership with the University of Guelph-Humber. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will have a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Sociology, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Social Policy or a relevant discipline. Minimum of 3 years of work experience within the criminal justice, human services, or a related field, is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated expertise in teaching at the post-secondary level and the technical ability and knowledge to integrate new instructional technologies.
Additional competencies include, but are not limited to, strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to teaching excellence, student success and inclusive teaching practices (i.e., Universal Design for Learning). Incumbents will also display a commitment to the values of the Faculty of Social and Community Services: Integrity, Inclusion, Compassion, Self-Awareness, and Respect.
