Position: Part-Time Temporary Security Guard

Site: Norman Rogers House – 111 Norman Rogers Dr

Hours:

Day Shift – Tuesday to Friday – 0645-1045

Evening Shift – Monday to Thursday – 1500-1900

Payrate: $21.50/hour

Note: This a temporary position for 2-3 months. We are open to the correct candidate who is interested in taking both the day and evening shifts as one full-time position, or 2 candidates taking either position. Please be sure to specify in the Job Q&A section.

Job Description:

• Morning Shift:

• Open building for contractors
• Access Control – Server Room
• Monitor and enforce contractor sign in policy
• Monitor entrances
• Sit/Stand for duration of shift
• Escalate to Facilities with any issues
• Evening Shift:

• Monitor entrances
• Monitor and enforce contractor sign out policy
• Clear building & secure server room
• Ensure all entrances and signage are sealed/properly placed at end of day
• Turn off all lights and set alarms
• Escalate to Facilities with any issues
• Additional job duties as assigned

Prerequisites: * Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (Site Requirement)
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• 6+ months in customer service
• Previous security experience is considered an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
