Job Summary
The Transportation business line of AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Construction Inspector, Rail for railway civil and track construction projects in Western Canada. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to:
Act as a central liaison between AECOM, clients, and contractors.
Monitor the quality of work done by contractors constructing new grade, tracks and turnouts.
Review contractor reports.
Review contractor work plans.
Inspect the quality of materials used on-site and determine compliance with specifications.
Evaluate the progress of the project to determine if time schedules and payment requirements are being met.
Monitor contractor safety programs to assess that client requirements are met.
Evaluation, inspection and reporting on existing tracks and making recommendations for maintenance and renewal projects.
May also participate in the preparation of the bid documents, cost estimating and evaluation of contractors and will administer and direct the construction phase.
Review with project designers and contractors to ensure that procedures are followed and that contractors are in compliance with project plans and specifications.
Coordinate surveying, as required for quantity measurements or quality assurance.
This is an as & when contract position, that may be based out of any of AECOM’s Western Canada offices, with preference to the Edmonton region or Northern BC. Project locations, durations, hours of work, and other details will be determined and discussed on a project-specific basis.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree + 4 years experience in railway construction OR Technical Diploma + 6 years experience in railway construction OR Highschool + 8 years experience in railway construction projects.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years railway &/or roadway construction supervision experience
10+ years CN or CP project experience
Proficient with Word, Excel, and other reporting software.
CET or other similar designation.
Surveying ability.
