Job description: We are currently hiring Personal Attendants and Personal Support Aides to join our AbleLiving transitional care bed programs located in Hagersville and Paris. Our transitional care bed programs include 20 beds dedicated to individuals transitioning from hospital to the long-term care or back into the community. We are currently hiring for two locations:

  • Hagersville: West Haldimand General Hospital
  • Paris: Willett Urgent Care Centre

Positions Available:

Personal Attendant

This position is responsible for providing non-medical personal support services, life-skills support and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible. Duties include assisting clients with personal care, arranging and escorting clients to appointments, and housekeeping services. Personal Support Worker certificate is not required but is considered an asset. We welcome candidates with any previous caregiving experience. This position requires availability for rotating shifts (8-12 hours), every other weekend, and statutory holidays.

This position is responsible for regular monitoring and provision of support to clients to enable them to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible. Duties include monitoring, observing, assisting with and participating in housekeeping and homemaking activities, recreational and social activities. No personal care is required in this role and great for individuals with no experience but looking to get into the healthcare field. This position requires availability for days, afternoons, evenings, every other weekend, and statutory holidays. We also welcome students for this position and have short shifts available in the evenings and weekends!

Employment Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Courses relating to personal support services for persons with disabilities or seniors, health & safety, first aid, physical and emotional needs of persons is an asset
  • Experience providing support for persons with disabilities or seniors on a paid or voluntary basis either in a work setting or through personal life experiences is beneficial.
