This is an exciting leadership position within the Physiotherapy department at MHRH. The position will support all branches of care within the department. Experience in all service areas is preferred as you will be mentor staff and students within this rotational position. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with administrative and supervisory experience would be an asset. You will also be required to provide ongoing education this requires you to show you are a lifelong learner within our profession. The ability to work independently and cooperatively with your peers is essential. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to work in and understand the transdisciplinary model of care within a allied health model of care. This position will also support rural sites and having an active Alberta driver’s license and reliable vehicle are requirements for the position. Additionally, you will demonstrate creative thinking and identify innovative solutions to complex and diverse issues. Your other roles will be to evaluate and monitor patient outcomes, make a recommendation, and lead service delivery changes.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association. Additional Required Qualifications:
