Job description: You Are:
Accenture is seeking a Procurement Practice Manager with deep Construction management, sourcing and supplier management experience to our help customers drive tangible results. In this capacity, you will work on a dedicated basis with an Accenture customer(s) with responsibility for delivering services including, but not limited to, strategic sourcing, client stakeholder management, supplier performance management, and continuous cost and performance improvement. You will ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for CAPEX related projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement within the construction industry, demonstrating expertise in sourcing materials, equipment, and services for complex engineering and construction projects. As a construction sourcing expert, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier reliability, and project success.
The Work:
Lead end-to-end procurement activities for construction projects, collaborating closely with project management, engineering, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and technical specifications.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and contractors that align with project needs and company standards, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
Conduct comprehensive market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, emerging suppliers, and innovative sourcing strategies that can drive cost savings and operational excellence.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services, leveraging competitive bidding, negotiation, and supplier relationship management to secure favorable terms.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, understand leading supplier performance, and support implementation of improvement plans as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives without compromising project quality or timelines.
Mitigate procurement-related risks by identifying potential supply chain disruptions, developing contingency plans, and ensuring timely procurement to meet project deadlines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier communications, using procurement software and tools as necessary.
As a consultant to our clients participate in the development of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of the procurement function.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement team members, fostering their professional growth within the organization.
Here’s What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
A minimum of 7 years in procurement within the construction sector with a deep understanding of construction process, materials, and industry regulations is crucial.
A minimum of 5 years experience in sourcing/procurement/supply chain management function
A minimum of 4 years experience with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, as well as familiarity with various construction methods, can be highly beneficial.
A minimum of 5 years experience in managing complex supplier agreements, evaluating vendor performance, and optimizing the supply chain is important.
Bonus Points:
Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPM, CPSM) are a plus.
Project Management Certification (PMP)
Over the years, you would likely have built a network of contacts within the construction and procurement industries, which can be valuable for sourcing suppliers and staying updated on industry trends.
Able to understand and leverage pricing, contracting, and delivery models commonly found within the construction EPC, and associated supply markets.
Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in the construction industry.
Ability to effectively lead formal strategic sourcing efforts related to indirect services.
Ability to interface with customers and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Formal training and/or experience in strategic sourcing
Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and presentation software (i.e. Microsoft PowerPoint
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel up to 40% to multiple customer locations.
Potential to be onsite at client location 2-3 days per week
