As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to strengthen and promote health protection to patients, staff and members of the public attending in the hospital, prior to the first day of employment with the Hospital, all successful candidates are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (full vaccination is required) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source. An individual is fully vaccinated if they have provided proof of vaccination in the form of a receipt from COVaxON (the Ministry’s provincial system for COVID-19 vaccination information) and 14 days have elapsed from the final dose. In the event that you are unable to be vaccinated as a result of a ground protected under the Human Rights Code, you may submit a written explanation of the ground and any supporting documentation to determine if you are exempt from this requirement.

Position Summary

Project Manager, Information Services

Your goal in this position is to support the planning, development, and implementation of key technical and infrastructure projects within the organization, including the promotion of health system integration and information systems. You will be a critical resource to lead projects, using project management best practices, and building strong relationships with internal and external partners. You will be the primary point of contact for the critical projects that they will be leading and will report to the Manager of Information Services. You’re also highly organized, detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and can demonstrate understanding of health service integration. Your position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and families.

On a practical level, you will

• Be responsible for the effective planning and implementation of Information Technology and infrastructure projects
• Lead, organize and facilitate project-related meetings, develop project reports and maintain project plans, presentations, statistics and other related documents, as required
• Build and maintain relationships with all project partners and provide effective written and verbal communication
• Proactively identify any project risks and recommend solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget and within scope.
• Be responsible for helping evolve North York General Hospital’s Project Management methodology.
• Mentor and coach team members on project management principles
• During critical times of any project implementation, you may be required to work off-hours and/or non-business hours

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology-related discipline

• PMP designation is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in project leadership and management.
• At least 2 years’ experience in implementing major technical and infrastructure applications an asset.
• Strong computer skills, including demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite, including MS Project
• Project management skills, with extensive knowledge of project management principles and tools
• Extensive knowledge with business process design, impact analysis, change management and problem resolution.
• Experience on technical support, application implementation or infrastructure administration is a great plus.

This is a Part Time Temporary position of 12 months with required 8 hour shifts, days shifts in the Information Services department.
