QA/QC Manager – Winnipeg, MB

NAC is currently seeking a full time QA/QC Manager, initially based on our South End Water Pollution Control Plant project in Winnipeg, MB. Individuals with previous Municipal experience are encouraged to apply! Furnished accommodations may be provided to eligible candidates.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the QA/QC Manager is responsible for executing the QA/QC management system at the project site.

Job Description:

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of all quality contract documents to support the project team including all Vendor confirmation and commissioning/start up documents.
  • Control and distribution of quality project correspondence between consultants and contractors in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to ensure all projects work and the company quality policies and procedures are completed as per the QC documents and the company’s standards.
  • Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub-contractors and vendors, coordinate all non- destructive testing on site, coordinate with the customers representative on all quality matters.
  • Coordinate all receipt inspections and distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site & subcontractors.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards. Participate in the site internal and external audits, coordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built hand over through the QC turnover engineer, control all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action.
  • Complete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses, monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan, complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer.
  • Coordinate with the site Construction Manager on all quality issues.
  • Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel.
  • Complete administrative tasks and forward paperwork to respective departments to ensure deadlines are met, and the quality administration of the project runs smoothly.
  • Act as a point of contact for quality related issues on site and provide support to the project team.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of NAC’S Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years direct work experience in a QA/QC Coordination or Managerial role
  • Previous experience working in a water related company or project. Experience with Wastewater is a significant asset
  • Diploma or degree in a Construction Quality management program, or equivalent experience required
  • Experience with commissioning and handover of projects
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • A sound understanding of quality assurance
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Safety cert’s required: Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and Confined Space (must be able to enter, if required, for QC inspections). Certifications can be provided upon hire.
